Halloween is just around the corner, and I’m sure everyone is starting to stress think about what they’re going to wear to that looming Halloween party. Well, your friends here at Alpine wouldn’t leave you in the lurch…we’re going to help you put together the best costume going this year. “But what’s that?” you might be wondering.

One word: Ed.

That’s right all you aspiring Eds, here’s all you need to put together a wicked Ed costume.

Plus – post your pictures to the official Alpine Lager Facebook page, and we’ll randomly pick the winner, who will receive a $100 gift certificate to the Moosehead Country Store!

Here’s what you’ll need:

1. Grab your most rugged pair of jeans and work boots. Here’s a hint: the older the work boots, the more authentically Ed.



2.Next you’ll need a navy blue work shirt. These can be hard to find, but Mark’s Work Warehouse or even Value Village could be your best bet. Don’t forget to roll up those sleeves.

3. Grab yourself a belt with a great belt buckle. The bigger, the better!

4.  The next KEY part – is to sport an Alpine baseball cap. Ed would never leave home without it. (You can get them at the Moosehead Country Store, btw)

4, From there – it’s all about the facial hair. Whatever you need to do – get yourself some whiskers. It’s the icing on the cake. Here’s a refresher – the decision of ‘stache v. goatee is up to you.

Do you remember in October when we had a contest to give away those awesome Alpine Camo Can banners that were hanging from Harbour Station?

Our winner was Gregor, who wrote in saying that he wanted to use the banners to wrap his Ice Fishing shack creating the ultimate winter Man Space.

Well, the contest has closed and the judges have spoken.  Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a winner.

We had a lot of interest in the Alpine Camo vinyl banners, and a lot of awesome creative ideas on how they would be re-used.  The ideas ranged from the practical (new siding, curtains, sails, etc.) to the less-than-practical (carrying them to the top of a mountain – these things are 100 pounds each!)

In the end, we chose a suggestion by Gregor who wants to use the banners to wrap his ice-fishing shack this winter to help keep out the draft.  Gregor, we are all over the idea, and at 10 x 30 feet each, you’ll have enough material for an ice-fishing village.

Ultimately, we thought that using the banners to help someone construct the ultimate winter Man Space would be the best use.  Plus, Alpine + camo + fishing was a no-brainer.  Gregor promised us photos of the completed project, so stay tuned.
